The
Photograph
In an afternoon, Grandmother was
knitting a scarf under a mango tree in the yard. Romim, her grandson, suddenly
came running to her with an old photograph in his hand. Showing the photograph
to his grandmother, Romim asked who in the photograph was. The grandmother was
very reluctant to let him know the fact. She kept him in curiosity for a long
time. But looking at the photograph, she became nostalgic. She beautifully
described the atmosphere and surroundings in the photograph to her grandchild.
The description given by the grandmother suggested that the girl in the
photograph was none but she herself. Her description of the surroundings also
suggested that she was very romantic, though she seemed to be a bit harsh by
her attitude. Moral of the story: “None
can forget the memory of the golden past.”
